How did you get involved in the FCA?
I was asked by a friend to attend an FCA meeting my senior year in high school and God dramatically change my life for eternity.
Who is your coaching role model?
My father, Coach Jerry Hueser, was the head coach at the University of Nebraska at Kearney for 30 years. His teams were amazing! I also have tremendous respect for the legendary John Wooden of UCLA.
Share a tip that helps you coach in a Christ-like way:
I like to spend time in prayer and reading God’s Word about an hour and half before the tip-off. I also use a Sharpie to draw a cross on my hand. When I look at it in a game I’m reminded to coach in the Spirit. I’ve also found The Competitor’s Creed to be very beneficial in transforming my heart to consciously think and perform God’s Way.
What has been the best part of this basketball season?
It’s nice to see the hard work these kids have poured into their game start to pay off. As a brand new school we’ve had to work really hard to become competitive. I also really enjoy my staff and the players I coach. We are a close team.
